I really don't understand why you care

So this episode starts off with the Emo Shota singing....on the balcony railing. Heroine arrives, and is worried about whether or not he will fall. They have another typical conversation of theirs (Emo Shota calling her cute expression cute, then says he hates it..etc.) all the while Heroine tells him to get off the balcony. Eventually (after more of this typical, bipolar conversation of theirs) this happens:

Okay, do that

Yep, he falls. Heroine rushes to his aid. Unfortunately, he does not die from this. He wakes up, and calls Heroine annoying. He says that a mere fall from the 2nd floor would not kill him, and that he could only wish he died that easily (if only...). Heroine then asks him if he wants to die, he says maybe, but not at the moment (not today, but maybe tomorrow!). He then says that there is a place he is fond of (he does like things aside from his bear! Surprising, I know.), and that today he would like to take Heroine there (should I be worried?).  

This is totally not creepy

Emo Shota takes Heroine to a place completely full of wax figures in wedding dresses. He notices that Heroine is not enjoying being there. Heroine says that wax figures are kind of eerie (I second that), and that she just wished that they were as cute as Teddy (is this...ass kissing I hear?!?). Emo Shota replies that he does realize that Teddy is the cutest of them all (of course), but in terms of soullessness, they are the same (to think that he knew that...). He then comments that Heroine would be beautiful as a silent corpse (this is where you run).

That's okay, I wasn't planning on sleeping tonight anyway

He then proposes that Heroine become a wax figure as well (you should be running by now). He says that he will keep her displayed carefully (RUN) and that it would make Teddy happy to have a new friend (RUN, BITCH-CHAN, RUN), it would be a win-win situation for her (NO IT WOULDN'T YOU LITTLE SH*T).  Heroine then says that she does not want to become one of his "sick figures" and attempts to run away (FINALLY). However, Emo Shota catches her (noooooo!) and slams her against the wall. He asks her why she's so frightened (ISN'T IT OBVIOUS???) , and begins to lick her, while commenting how wonderful fearful expressions are, and how he wonders why they excite him so much (because you're mental, that's why). Then he starts saying how he'll make her into a wax figure, and then bites her. He tells her that she will be lovelier than the prettiest bride (that so sweet, and so scary at the same time...) and then reveals that the wax figures are really the previous sacrificial brides. He then starts strangling her. Things aren't looking good for Heroine, but never fear

For once, I am very happy to see you

for Ayato is here! Heroine thanks Ayato, but he tells her not to get the wrong idea. He motions as if to bit her, and she cringes. Suddenly, he stops. He says he's not in the mood at the moment, he's too tired (was this out of sympathy?!? *GASP*).

Later Heroine is walking through the hall, and she spots Mr.Wonderful. He tells her that she will die if she stays there (you think?). She asks him what choice she has, and he tells her that she has a chance to leave now. She takes advantage of this opportunity and begins to pack her bags. She then notices her "father's" diary, and picks up the photo in it of herself when she was a baby (w/ priest/father?) and then says that she does indeed want to learn the truth (apparently, getting out of a place full of rapists isn't the top priority right now).

Stupid bitch

 She goes back to Subaru, and asks him if he knows anything about her or her father, and tells him that she was told (are you following this?) that she was offered up as a sacrifice by the church. Subaru tells her that he knows nothing, and then, he sees his mother's solemn expression while looking at hers. He then gives Heroine a knife ( a silver knife, that is), and tells her that it can be used to kill vampires with a stab to the heart (jackpot!). Heroine asks him why he gave her this, but he walks away, and has a flashback instead of answering.

Gah! He's cute even when he's scared!

 Turns out, his mom gave it to him (when he was a child, of course), all the while frantically begging him to murder.

Heroine returns to her room to find the Fedora lying in wait. She tells him to get out, he chuckles. He notices she's holding Mr.Wonderful's knife. He holds it up to his chest, and says that he never knew how much she loved him. Heroine is confused. He tells her that murder is the ultimate way to tell a vampire you love them (you hear that, ladies?). He then asks her if she knows what it feels like to love someone so much that she hates them, and slams her up against the wall (that seems to be a recurring action in this show). He tells her that they are very much alike, and that her hot blood "speaks to him." He says that it knows she wants him (ohhh), she pushes him away. He tells her to scream that she wants him (why in the world would she do that?), and then goes back to that religious argument they had two episodes ago. Then Heroine makes a speech as to why she still believes.

Because of this speech, the Fedora is interested in Heroine for reasons other than blood. Way to go!

Episode Rating 4/10, because of bad decision making

Diabolik Lovers Episode 5 - Mommy Issues

So this episode starts of with Yui in denial of what the Fedora told her last episode. Suddenly, the Emo Shota arrives, tells her to pick up the roses she is plucking, and follow him. She does so (dooming herself in the process), and they end of up the family graveyard. Yui asks why they're there, and after saying how great graves are, he presents his mother's grave to her. After a comment from Yui, the Emo Shota remarks that he had killed her....and then asks Yui if she would believe that. He asks her to place the roses on the grave. After she does so, she tries to take her leave. 

The Emo Shota gets pissed, calls her selfish, and beats his mother's grave with the roses. Yui tells him to stop, and he gets even angrier, saying not to order him around and calling her a "lousy mortal" (oh dayum) and telling her that she doesn't understand him (typical Emo talk). Yui apologizes, but he tells her that her apologies annoy him, and then asks her if she likes deceiving others. Yui backs away from him, and trips in the process. Emo Shota laughs at her. He tells her she looks pathetic, and tells her that if she crawls around in the dirt some more and cries like "the pathetic girl" she is, he might forgive her (are you serious?).  Yui apologizes again, and suddenly, Emo Shota has a change in mood (like a complete 180). He calls her sweet, and tells her "that's enough," then gets on top of her.

Ew

He starts making a motion to bite her, then stops. He recalls how human women (apparently) get angry if they aren't  kissed before being pleasured (I didn't know sucking their blood induced pleasure...weird). He says it's a pain, but does it anyway. He bites her neck afterwards, then stops to sniff her. He notes that she smells like "something he remembers" and laughs about it (like the crazy mother he is) and proceeds biting her. She (like always) says that it hurts. He stops (being surprisingly considerate) and says that he should make it feel good for her. So instead of biting her neck, he bites between her boobs (?). As he sucks her blood he remarks that it's delicious, and then tells her that he won't let her go. You then her disturbing sucking/slurping sounds as you get a pleasant view of the Emo Shota's bear (that scene sent chills down my spine).

Oh, hey! Where have you been the last 3 episodes?

 As Heroine walks zombishly back to the manor, we see mystery man in the back. We then hear "what are you doing here, Richter?" from behind him, only to discover it's Subaru! Also, it turns out Richter is their uncle (apparently), and Subaru does not like him. Subaru (being his usual, charming self) tells the guy to shut up and go away. Dramatic wind starts blowing, and Richter states that "the awakening will manifest without awaiting its time" (???) and he disappears. Subaru looks back and the dazed heroine, and ponders what Richter said.

So this is Glasses without the glasses? Not bad...not bad at all.

So after she reaches the door to her room, Heroine notices that the door next door is open. Throwing caution to the wind she decides to go in (that's one more bad decision today to add to the list). She discovers Glasses sleeping in this room (which appears to be a study/laboratory), and wakes him. Glasses (without his glasses on) is not pleased. He comments that he cannot believe that he was awoken by the smell of her blood (are you gonna tell me that's rude?). Yui apologizes, but he says that it's better than the nightmare he was having. Yui commented that she did indeed come because she hear moaning. Glasses puts on his glasses and goes to make some tea. 

He gets just a cup for himself, and Heroine is wondering why. He asks her if she honestly believed he would make tea for her, and tells her to stop being so conceited (OH SNAP!). He tells her that he will, however, allow her to enjoy the smell. Heroine decides to switch the topic, and asks if anybody else, like the Space Cadet, uses it. Glasses then comments that just hearing his (Space Cadet's) name makes his ears feel unclean. Heroine asks why he hates him so much, but Glasses refuses to provide her with an answer. He then goes off to stare out a window and has a flashback.

And what's the flashback of? Him staring out a window (at his mom and the Space Cadet). This suggests that the reason he hates the Space Cadet so much is that his mom favored him instead. Suddenly, after his flashback ends, Glasses offers to share his tea (which is totally not suspicious). Heroine sips the tea, and drops her cup, and grabs her mouth. Turns out it was poisoned (yep, totally unexpected)!

That is not the only problem, and you know it!

Glasses reassures her that her life is not at risk (which makes it totally okay that he poisoned her), he also states that he dislikes how it made her numb (now she won't moan in pain, and that simply will not do). He says he'll have to make it again, and then forces some other chemical in her mouth. She starts coughing and falls on the ground.

Well, shit, maybe she forgot her manners after you F***ING POISONED HER.

 He tells her that her coughing is impolite (ಠ_ಠ) and asks her what's wrong with her (really?). He then tells her that she must clean up the shattered glass off the floor (....). Heroine looks at her hand, so see a horrid gash on it. Glasses grabs her hand, and tells her that he has no interest in things with imperfections (I'm sure she's heartbroken). He then tells her, despite this, she "infuses the air with a sweet aroma" and proceeds to lick her hand. He then stops and mutters "what is this?", and gets up. He takes his remaining glove off (aw shiet) and tells her that he has soiled himself with her blood (pfft...really now?). Heroine starts to say that it wasn't her fault (and it really wasn't), but glasses stops her and tells her that he doesn't want to hear her excuses. 

He tells her to get up, and she does so, and notices him glaring at her...hard. She backs away, he drops his glove, and slams her against the bookshelf (ouch). She begs him to stop, and then he asks her "who in the world will hear you scream?", and proceeds to try to bite her. She screams, and then he makes a whole speech that mortals are merely containers of blood, and despite her position, he wishes to give more pleasure her more than anyone (wait...what?). He then bites her, and Heroine struggles, eventually pushing one of his arms away. He then slams her against the bookshelf again, and tells her to know her place and that he will not tolerate disobedience. He tells her to learn to fear him more and more (I think she already fears you enough, thank you very much).

That is the most frightening utterance of that line I have ever heard

  He then asks "shall I bandage your wound?" (what?) and then says that he will bind it so tightly that her blood flow will be cut off, and her hand will rot and fall off at the wrist (of course...). He then says the very idea of her screaming at that moment makes him very happy (ಠ_ಠ). She then collapses as he goes more into the description of this ordeal, then suddenly, he has yet another flashback.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't his goal

So apparently he killed his mom, and she (his mom) was very happy about it. He was angered that she was satisfied by this, and yelled that he had no intention of allowing her a peaceful death. We then get back to him and Yui. He pulls Yui closer to him, and mumbles "I will not allow it."

Episode rating 3/10 why do you think it took me so long to blog this episode? Though, I was quite happy to see the return of Mr.Wonderful, learn mystery man's name, and see that Glasses's mother pissed him off when he killed her. Still, I hate psychos, and this show is full of them.

Final Thoughts on Summer 2013 Anime

The summer anime season has finally concluded, and with it, many good shows and many others that weren't very good. As always, I am here to deliver my final opinions of all the shows included in the summer anime season.

Ongoing Anime:

Gifuu Doudou!!: Kanetsugu to Keiji

I'm a bit shocked that this series got another season. It's just so....boring. The time spent watching this show feels long and dragged out. Not to mention I constantly space out while watching this, so I usually have no idea of what is going on. I just might drop this show sooner or later.

Monogatari Series: Second Season

Well, I'm liking it so far. This season of the Monogatari series has more aspects of the first season, which pleases me greatly. Though, this season of the anime made me realize one thing: Nadeko is extremely annoying. Her innocence, whether intended or not, irks the hell out of me. On the positive side, I have more, non-pedophilic love for Mayoi. 

Uchuu Kyoudai

I have to admit, all of this drama with Sharon breaks my heart. Also, the stuff going on with Hibito is quite upsetting as well. This show certainly knows how to play on one's heartstrings. Come to think of it, this is, so far, the longest show I have watched from the beginning while airing. I wonder...how much longer will this show go on?

Completed Anime:

Blood Lad

It was a pretty good series, well-balanced with action and comedy. Bell and Wolf were my personal favorite characters. My only complaints with it are the length of the series (10 episodes is too short!) and the monstrous size of the heroine's breasts.

Brothers Conflict

This show was my ultimate rage and laugh material. I haven't had this much fun watching and talking about an anime in a long time. I'm honestly gonna miss this show, and all of its typical plot and archetype characters. Of course, I'm mostly gonna miss the tranny.

Choujigen Game Neptune: The Animation

This show was very boring. I'm not one who is very fond of moeshit, but damn, this show was even more awful than I expected. When it was boring me, it was giving me a headache. It was literally painful to watch. My saving graces were the vocal talents of Yuu Kobayashi and Kana Hanazawa.

Danganronpa

I have to admit, watching a whole bunch of overly exaggerated anime character archetypes kill each other and do murder trials was quite a promising concept (in my eyes, at least). I mean this show did get a bit out of hand or really weird a few times, but it was certainly an interesting watch.

Fantasista Doll

This show was poorly done. The character interactions are so damn shoddy, it's hard to focus on the plot, which is already difficult to understand. It hardly made any sense to me, but since its aimed toward children, I guess the creators thought it didn't need to make sense.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya

When I saw that this would be a spin-off of the Fate series, I had some...expectations if you will. I mean yes, this is a magical girl spoof thing, but aside from the characters referencing Fate/stay night, this was pretty much a very typical somewhat ecchi magical girl show. The best part, for me anyway, was the opening.

Free!

Swimming with some homosexual undertones. This show goes into the same category as Hakkenden and Makai Ouji, shows that tease shounen ai and/or yaoi. Though, this one was more likeable due to some female characters that were actually significant, and one male character that was genuinely likable (Makoto ♥). Also, the fact that they focused on the swimming more than expected was wonderful.




Gatchaman Crowds


I adored this series. Not only was it colorful and crazy, but it was just generally fun. Sometimes, when watching the show, I wished I was in that universe where reality was treated like a game. It just looked like such a blast (for the most part, anyway). I also absolutely loved the ending.

Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou

This show went from scary, to a broken record, to just...what? Either way, watching this series was a unique experience to say the least. For awhile though, it was the weekly death, it was really frustrating. The characters...Luna kind of creeps me out, Akari is...well, a bit generic, Seira is a tsundere, and Ginka is adorable.

Genshiken Nidaime

Seeing more Genshiken was a treat indeed, but I go by what I had said earlier, I liked the old voice actors better. Unfortunately, having a majority of fujoshi in the club did get a bit annoying at times. Regardless, it was enjoyable.

Gin no Saji

What do you get when you combine farming, school life, and the author of FMA? Pure genius. This show had everything, comedy, drama, great characters, and just a smidge (and only a smidge) of romance. If you didn't watch it this season, then I recommend you add this to your watch list. You shall not regret it.

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince

At first, I really didn't like this show. After awhile though, it grew on me. The characters didn't, but the story did. This show had plenty of good and bad elements mixed together, but in the end, I could not possibly say that this show was below average. Sure, it had issues with the animation and a lot of the characters, but everything else (especially the music) was pretty good.

Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun 2nd Season

This was certainly an improvement from the previous season, however, it was pretty much the same thing. Just another show that teases shounen ai, but never gets to the damn point. I'm not extremely fond of these shows, but this one came out pretty decent.

High School DxD New

Action, demons, and lots of boobs. 'Twas just more of the same, but in this case, that's not necessarily a bad thing. They changed it up a bit adding a bit more drama, and two more characters to the main cast, and it remained just as hilarious as before. Though, I think the ending was extremely typical.

Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou

A romantic comedy that features light beastiality. It's a harem-ish show where the lead...is a dog...who used to be human. Surprisingly, this show wasn't awful like I thought it would be. However, it wasn't necessarily anything special either. It had some good moments, but it was generally mediocre.

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai: Megami-hen

Seeing the Goddesses' arc animated certainly was a treat, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I do have a few complaints though, one of which (I had the same issue with the manga) is that Yui does not appear all that often. Yui is the best, and I'd like to see more of the best.

Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi

This was one of my favorites this season; I absolutely loved it. It had great music, beautiful animation, and a brilliant story. I also loved the characters My only complaint is that this series is incredibly underrated. More people should watch this show, because it was a beautiful series.

Kimi no Iru Machi

The entirety of this adaptation reminded me how much I hated Eba (Yuzuki). Aside from that, it wasn't really done very well. The animation was shoddy, and a lot of the voices were extremely awkward. I did enjoy Asuka and Kyousuke (and sometimes Rin) though.

Kiniro Mosaic

Cute girls doing cute things...with lots of Engrish. I had high hopes for this show after the first episode. I was expecting it to be a modern day Ikoku Meiro no Croisée, but it turned out to be high school girls acting half their age with two exchange students (with some mild yuri undertones). Also, as I mentioned earlier, there was LOTS of Engrish. You'd think they'd hire an actual foreigner to do the job, right? Nope, nope, not at all.

Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku

This was probably the worst show of the season for me. Cute girls doing cute things is already boring most of the time already, but when you combine that with horrible voice acting and dull comedy, you get garbage. This show knew it was bad too, they even tried to end it an episode earlier....

Love Lab

This show certainly surprised me with its quality. I really wasn't expecting much, but this show turned out to be, at least for me, the best comedy series of the season. I also loved the characters, they clicked very well together.

Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist

This series wasn't good, or bad either for that matter. It was half interesting, half hot guys doing things, which pretty much isn't really my cup of tea. It kind of reminded me of this book I was reading called Brideshead Revisited, except with demons and angels. It was just...meh.

Mushibugyou

This show is straight up shounen. Though, that isn't really a problem with me since I really do love shounen series. I was very surprised at how far they were able to take the whole idea of man-eating bugs and...bug...people... Well, it was interesting, to say the least. Also, the Insect Magistrate is absolutely adorable.

Recorder to Randoseru Mi☆

Even though this was a short series, it was enjoyable in its own right. I enjoyed this season of the series a bit more thanks to the addition of some new characters. Also, the animation was cute, but it had derpy moments too.

Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS

Lolis playing basketball against other lolis. I probably would have liked this season a bit more if it wasn't so fanservicy, and if it was just...more interesting in general. I spaced out occasionally while watching this..and it wasn't really difficult to piece together what happened while I was spaced out. This show is pretty simple.

Rozen Maiden: Zurückspulen

Although it was a bit confusing at first, this edition of Rozen Maiden was very much enjoyable. The animation was a step up from the previous Rozen Maiden anime (at least, in my opinion), and we got the addition of the ever so frightening Kirakishou (she's a scary bitch), 'twas a great show. I hope there's a sequel, because that ending left one hell of a cliffhanger.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear G

Well, it was certainly an improvement from the first season, but it was still ridiculous and stupid on so many levels. But, I can't really complain. It's not like my expectations for this were high or anything. However, they do get points for using bagpipes in their music this time around (uncommon instruments FTW). Also, the finale was very...sparkly and colorful.

Servant x Service

I really enjoyed this series, mostly for the romance though. The humor was also good, and the cast....I really liked three or four them, I didn't really have any interest in most of them, and a few of them were extremely annoying. Also, I absolutely hated the ending. Still, I enjoyed this show, it was definitely worth the watch.

Shingeki no Kyojin

Ah, yes, the most highly rated anime of this year (so far). I thoroughly enjoyed this, like the vast majority of its audience. It had a simple concept, but with a combination of great characters and gorgeous animation, it was executed in a brilliant manner. However, I'm not going to say that this was my favorite of the year (so far) just to fit in. I enjoyed this show, but there were others I enjoyed more.

Stella Jogakuin Koutou-ka C³-bu

This show was very...meh. It had good moments, but the main character annoyed the crap out of me. This is the first time in a long time that I just hated the main character. She started out generic, turned into a bitch, then went back to being generic. But hey, everyone else was okay!

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S

I enjoyed this sequel to the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun series a bit more than the first season. Why? Well, for starters, Kuroko wasn't being uber annoying this season. Also, introducing the members of the ITEM team was a plus. However, I'm not very happy that they ended this season with an anime-original arc.

Uchouten Kazoku

This show was certainly unique. I haven't seen a show with characters that seemed this realistic for quite awhile. They seem like folks you'd meet just about anywhere..apart from the tanuki and/or tengu part. The world this took place in, though it's very much like modern day society, is particularly beautiful.

Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!

The fact that half of the entertainment I got out of this show was face-palming doesn't really say anything good about it. However, this show was pretty good. I still don't like the fact that Tomoko has made little to no social progress whatsoever, though.








All in all, summer was a pretty good season for anime. There were many great shows, and definitely some underrated shows amongst them (Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi and Uchouten Kazoku) that should've gotten some more attention. Now we can look forward to the fall anime season, and the greats and the not-so-greats to come.
