Diabolik Lovers 9 - Domination (Not in the S&M Sort of Way)

A lot of things, actually

So this episode starts off with a mysterious voice calling out to Cordelia (or as I lovingly call her, Mommy-kins). Heroine awakens, and contemplates what is wrong with her and why she has chest pains. So, like any logical person, Heroine decides to wander the property in the dead of night...in her school uniform (well, I suppose it's better than wandering in your pajamas). Suddenly, she is attacked by bats. She tells them to stop, and then hears a moany-groany voice saying to be quiet in a nearby...tomb? Heroine immediately recognizes it as the Space Cadet (who else would it be?). He asks her what she wants. Heroine apologizes for the disturbance, and attempts to consult him about her recent...issues...which inevitably results in...

Why do all conversations end with this?

  Him sucking her blood. How unexpected.

However, something is off. Space Cadet notes how her blood has changed and that the awakening is at hand *GASP*. Heroine seems a bit surprised by this remark, so Space Cadet repeats himself, adding in that her blood is hot and bursting out right now (gotta love the adjectives they use here). He attempts to go back and suck more blood, but even with her meager amount strength, she manages to block him.

HOWEVER,

Please, enlighten me with more information

He also adds that  new, fresh, blood also flows through...(wait for it)...her wrists!
After he sucks some blood from her wrists, he states that her blood is of the finest quality (just in case y'all forgot). Then after some more blood sucking and 'delicious' comments, Space Cadet says something else about the awakening and Heroine finally asks him what it is. After some more reminders of what a sacrificial bride is, former mystery man Richter shows up and explains the whole situation.

Where should we start?

Heroine immediately recognizes him as the man from the flashback. After Space Cadet leaves, Richter apologizes for the poor manners of his nephews (because that is totally relevant at this point). After Heroine barrages him with questions, Richter explains to her that she was not chosen per say. It turns out she was picked because she was simply the right age and was easy to obtain (so this could've happened to anyone! Even...YOU!) and that her father had no involvement in this. Heroine is relieved by this news, but then, suddenly, her chest pains begin again. This means the awakening is progressing, and Richter couldn't be happier about it. He somehow renders her unconscious (her will is unconscious, but she can still walk and stuff) and takes her to the attic(?). He turns her father's (fake?) diary and her (fake?) baby picture to dust, stating that there is no further need for them.

Well, I guess I'm not sleeping this week

He takes her to the location of Mommy-kins's bloodied up dress. Suddenly, her hand is covered in blood, and then everything becomes dark. Mommy-kins creepily fades in, and slowly reaches for Heroine. Heroine looks as if she's about to scream.

The bitch is back

After the reunion, Mommy-kins (in Heroine's body) laughs evilly. This awakening is noticed by all of the brothers, some of whom certainly more perturbed than others.

Who knows what's in store for us next week?!?

Episode rating 6/10 A-a postive rating?!?! What kind of sorcery is this?!?! 

Well, it's nice to see a somewhat interesting development every once in awhile.

Beyond the Boundary - Episode 8

Everything has settled down for Mirai now that her issues with Sakura have been resolved (so much so that the two now effectively act like sisters around one another), and with news spreading that the Calm is on its way, surely there's nothing left to be worried about?

Diabolik Lovers 8 - Killing the Queen, Blood-Sucking with Subaru, and Cuddling

Oh yeah, I think she's very warm now

So the episode starts off with Heroine walking in on the Fedora playing the piano. She immediately (and I do mean immediately) asks him who the lady with purple hair is, and her question is then answered with a flashback of the brothers murdering her. I'm not gonna get into the intimate details of it (because this scene was shockingly exciting). And that was half of the episode right there.

I like Subaru, he tells it like it is

After they finish telling her the story, she runs away. She says she can't take it anymore, and then, suddenly, Subaru arrives, and tells her she should've left when she had the chance. She asks him if he knew about what the triplets did to their mother, and he responds "and if I do?" He prepares to walk away, when she asks him why he gave her the knife. She steps towards him, and he responds as such:

Ah, so we're back to Mr.Wonderful mode again, aren't we?

And to add to that, he says he will not only destroy her body (oohh) but her mind as well (I think he's trying too hard). Then he throws flowers at her (so scary). She automatically flashes back to the woman she saw standing in the tower. She then asks him if that was his mother (because now is obviously the best time to ask questions). He blows up again screaming "what do you know?!" and grabbing her arm.

Well, I guess he's destroying your wrist first

Heroine is in pain, and demands Subaru let go. He then proceeds to beat himself up and act as if he is talking to his mother. He then returns to reality, and hugs Heroine. Then he bites her (well at least he was more gentle about it...). Of course, he also comments that it's so sweet.

Isn't that statement a little bit redundant?

Then he pulls down half of her shirt (pulling an Ayato here, aren't we?), and sniffs her (?) then bites her upper arm. After all that, he provides her with an answer to her question. He tells her that he gave her the knife to stab him with, should he want her to. She says she can't possibly do that, so he tells her to use it to kill herself instead (well, okay then). He tells her that she has no right to refuse, just like how she can't deny him her blood. Heroine cringes in fear, and Subaru is seemingly pleased by this. He tells her to always be quiet and allow his fangs to enter her (oh dayum), and bites her again.

Later, Heroine is quietly lying in bed, when someone else enters it. She turns around.

That's not exactly very intimidating to say while you're clinging to her like a small child

It's Ayato. He tells her not to look at him, and pulls her back down. He holds her (kind of) and tells her not to disobey him, and then falls asleep (?)

Episode rating 5/10 not a bad rating, isn't that crazy?!? That chase scene really was something.

White Album 2 - Episode 7

It's the day of the festival at last, and everything is running smoothly, assuming you're happy to discount Touma's complaints about the outfit chosen for her.

Diabolik Lovers 7 - More Mommy Issues and an Epicly Long Flashback

Well, that is totally not creepy at all

So this episode starts off with some unpleasant weather. Heroine awakes from her slumber, and takes a look out the window. Who does she see? It's that random lady we saw back in episode 1!

So something possesses her to go to this waterway under the house. She then enters a room that triggers an episode-long flashback!

Aww...they were so cute before they became rapists..

Heroine regains her consciousness, and wonders where she is. She then sees pint-sized Ayato, Fedora (who didn't have a fedora when he was little), and Emo Shota. Tiny Emo Shota is sad that the bats he caught got away, tiny Ayato volunteers to catch them back for him. Suddenly, mystery lady appears (turns out she's their mom)! After tiny Emo Shota and Fedora take their leave, their mom tells Ayato to go back inside and study. Tiny Ayato refuses, and asks why Emo Shota and Fedora get to play outside while he is forced to study all day. She tells tiny Ayato it's because he's different, because he is the successor. In order to be the successor, he must be number one, otherwise, he is not his mother's child and he will be sunk to the bottom of the lake (parenting!). She tells him, unless that is what he wants, to return to his room and study. Tiny Ayato runs off, wearing a sad expression. 

Even if she's a bitch, I've got to admit, she certainly carries herself well

 Mommy-kins takes a seat on a bench. She calls over the Emo Shota, and tells her to sing "that song" for her. He does so, tiny Fedora also comes to listen, smiling peacefully, as their mother wears this conceited look on her face. We then return to Heroine who ponders "is this pretty lady their mother? But that..."

We then get a change of scenery, as Heroine stumbles upon the Glasses with his mother.

He's the cutest

Tiny Space Cadet comes about with a puppy (this was the most adorable thing this show has ever presented to me), his (and Glasses's) mother does not look pleased. She asks him what he's doing, and he shows her the puppy gleefully, telling her a friend gave him to him. She tells him to release "that thing" at once. Glasses glares at him. She then lectures him about how he is the oldest son, and therefore, the next head of the family (everyone wants their son to succeed in this family). She tells him that he must know how to conduct himself at all times (and apparently, the puppy gets in the way of this). The puppy is then confiscated by the creepy butler who hasn't appeared since episode 1 (or maybe he has, I don't really know since he doesn't have much presence). Space Cadet has a fit, and says that he promised Edgar he'd take care of him. His mother then stares at him with cold eyes, he lets go of the puppy and runs away.

No one cares, Glasses

Glasses then attempts to impress his mother by telling her that he has finished memorizing an entire book (wowza). His mother doesn't seem to care though, so he goes back to reading, looking a bit frustrated.
We then return to an onlooking Heroine who steps on a white rose. She tries to pick it up, but she cuts her finger (even though she's kind of a ghost-thing in this flashback, she can hurt herself).

Why does he dress exactly the same way as he does when he's older?

Heroine is somehow magically transported to another floor, and stumbles upon a tower. A young Mr.Wonderful stares at the tower, which, it turns out, is where his mother is being held captive (like a princess). Young Mr.Wonderful looks sad. Heroine notices the knife he gave her in his hand. He drops the knife.

I think that's just a little bit of a stretch

We then somehow return to ground level, back to Mommy-kins. Here we find her getting her ass kissed by the former mystery man, Richter. After he basically tells her that she's the best thing that has ever come into existence, Mommy-kins tells Richter that she wants him to always stay by her side, just to whisper his sweet nothings. Heroine then notices young Ayato, bearing witness to his mother cheating (implied).
Suddenly, things turn black and white. Everything has stopped moving, but somehow, Mommy-kins turns and looks at Heroine. Heroine panics, and her chest pain causes her to collapse, therefore ending the long flashback.

Heroine is woken up by Ayato. She asks him where she is, and he tells her that they're in the underground waterway. She asks how she got there, and he is surprised to hear that she doesn't remember. He tells her to stay away from there when it rains (he's caring again!). She then asks him what's behind the door that's next to him, he tells her that she doesn't need to know. He notices the cut on her finger. She wonders where she got it from, and then remembers the rose in the flashback.
Suddenly, a wild Fedora appears.

That can never mean anything good

He was lured in by the smell of her blood! He says he's glad that she's there, and proposes they have some fun together (just when I thought there wasn't gonna be rape in this episode!). Ayato notes how Heroine's blood is indeed potent, and how he's smelled it before. Heroine attempts to escape, but just as all her previous attempts, it is futile. Fedora pushes her against the gate she was trying to escape from. Ayato pushes him out of the way, and bites her neck. He mumbles how it's the flavor he remembers while sucking her blood. Suddenly, he stops, looking a bit freaked out. Fedora asks if Ayato's done, and if he could have a turn. Ayato says "be my guest" and after saying that she can't escape (this time using a butterfly in a spiderweb analogy), he bites her thigh and says he loves her. Ayato looks at Fedora with shock. He pulls down Heroine's pajama a bit (OH SHIT), and bits her shoulder (?). Both brothers suck her blood simultaneously, until Ayato decides to stop (because he's "bored") and walks away.

That's right, Mr.Cool. Walk away.

As he walks away Fedora glances at him momentarily, and then continues to suck Heroine's blood. Heroine then passes out.

Episode rating 4.5/10 Would've been decent if they didn't include the rape. Seriously.

Samurai Flamenco - Episode 5

The double-act of Samurai Flamenco and Flamenco Girl remains at the cutting edge of crime-fighting, although even amongst the criminal fraternity interest has piqued far more in the latter than the former, not least because the bounty on Flamenco Girl's head is twice that of her predecessor at this point in time.

All of this is enough for Hazama to start seriously questioning where he should go

Kill la Kill - Episode 6

Having seen the true extent of Matoi's powers, it seems that Kiryuin isn't in the mood to mess around any longer, ordering in a bulk load of Life Fibres, seemingly with a view towards creating even more Goku Uniforms and club presidents to sport them.

Before all that however, Satsuki is asked for a favour from a former rival and now one of the school's so-called Elite Four, Uzu Sanageyama.  

Golden Time - Episode 6

This week's Golden Time begins by allowing us to dig a little deeper into Banri's pre-accident memories, giving us a view into the life of a far weaker boy than the one we now see before us, and also one besotted with Linda, only to find his confession to her put on hold until the following day.  A day which effectively never came.

Fall 2013 Anime First Impressions

A more appropriate title for this post would be "Mid-Season Impressions" but since I hate making things different, I leave the title as is. Anywho, as always, I shall be presenting my opinions on all the new shows of the Fall 2013 anime season, as well as the continuing shows from previous seasons.

New Series:

BlazBlue: Alter Memory

I have no idea as to what is going on in this show. Things explode, people fight, and I haven't a clue as to why this is happening. I have yet to be impressed by anything unrelated to music in this show, which is a real shame because it was one of the series I was looking forward to the most.

Coppelion

I understand that there are problems with this show, but, regardless, I do indeed enjoy watching it. Why? I don't really know, but I like it. Though, I do admit, Aoi is extremely annoying. On another note, I absolutely LOVE the opening theme for this show. It's so sexy.

Diabolik Lovers

As anyone may be able to guess from my posts on this show, it disgusts me, yet amuses me with the extreme amount of stupidity. From what a very nice commenter has told me, it's not even following the source material right. It's merging multiple storylines into one big, convoluted mess of a plot.

Diamond no Ace

I'm not exactly a very sporty person. I can stand watching stuff like basketball, or biking, but baseball is....err...meh. This show, however, despite being about baseball, manages to keep my interest pretty well. The characters definitely make the show worth watching, even if you're not a sports loving person.

Galilei Donna

I enjoy this show very much, but I have one huge problem with it: Kazuki. Seriously, if not for her, this show would be so much better. Putting the annoyance that is Kazuki aside, I love Hozuki and Hazuki (and the pirate guy too, he's attractive) and the whole adventure aspect of this show is fun as well. Now that all the teen girl drama is seemingly over, hopefully things will get fun again.

Gingitsune

This show is adorable. It's one of those shows few and far between that can be enjoyed by both younger and older audiences. It's sweet, but it has drama, as all anime do. This show accomplishes being cute and family friendly, while at the same time not sending me to sleep. Good job!

Golden Time

This show is so much fun. I love how exaggerated some of the characters are. I also love that this show has pairings involving characters other than the protagonist (who would've thought?!). Koko is a bit freaky though, but I guess that's the whole point of her character.

IS: Infinite Stratos 2

This season is quite a big step down from the first season. In the first season, there were plenty of battle scenes and a small dose of fanservice. This season is lots and lots of T&A, with a few battle scenes. I liked having a combination of the two, but when the con is outweighing the pro, the show is not good.

Kakumeiki Valvrave 2nd Season

Valvrave is special, in every meaning of the word. It's retarded and amazing at the same time. I love how unpredictably predictable it is. Anyway, the new developments, despite being a prime example of Murphy's Law (pessimism FTW), are extremely entertaining.

Kill la Kill

Kill la Kill is what you get if you combine Gurren Lagann with Panty & Stocking, Nazis, and school. It is the most incredible thing that's on right now. It's hilarious, action packed, hilarious, sexy, hilarious, did I mention hilarious? It is this season's shining star.

Kuroko no Basket 2nd Season

The introduction of Kagami's Japanese/American childhood friend certainly made for some interesting dialogue. The matches are also just as interesting as last season, if not more. I love this series, I guess I could consider it my favorite sports anime of all time.

Kyoukai no Kanata

I love the balance of silly and serious this show has. It's actually more silly than serious, but at this point, I really don't care. And, as expected of Kyoani, the animation is absolutely gorgeous.

Kyousogiga (TV)

It definitely didn't turn out how I expected it to turn out, but this show is surprisingly kind of...sad. The whole abandonment the council members feel makes my heart hurt. Who would've thought that crazy acid trip show would have so much feeling put into it?

Little Busters!: Refrain

Riki has a harem and sad things happen. Oh joy....I really wish they just stopped adapting after the first season of Little Busters! because I'm getting a bit depressed with this sequel. It's not bad, but I could certainly do without all the sappy stuff that's happening. I guess that's Key for you, though.

Log Horizon

People are saying this show is way better than Sword Art Online. I do indeed agree that it is a better series, but it isn't exactly great by any means. I do enjoy it, and I do think it's good, but so far, I do not think it great.

Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai

I'd probably like this series better if Yaya wasn't a walking migraine. Luckily, she's not one of those characters that annoys the crap out of you and is completely useless at the same time. Still, she's annoying. Yaya aside, this show is pretty mediocre, hopefully it'll improve.

Magi: The Kingdom of Magic

I'm extremely happy they've included the Pirates arc, and I'm very much excited to see how they'll execute the Magnostadt arc, but a bit anxious to hear Tetsuya Kakihara and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka's voices. Who knows how they'll sound...

Meganebu!

Pretty colors and pretty boys acting like ladies. Surprisingly, this show isn't all that boring. I mean, it does have some really boring episodes, but there's a few (like the one with the ghost) that were actually pretty interesting. Hopefully more episodes will be just as interesting.

Miss Monochrome

I didn't really pay any mind to this is the season preview, but it's surprisingly an OK short series. Though, it really wouldn't matter if I didn't start watching it because it's not really anything special either.

Nagi no Asukara

This series is so pretty. It's also surprisingly gripping. I especially like Chisaki and Kaname's relationship, and I ship it (harder than any other pairing in this show). Of course, the main character's romance with Manaka is nice too (but Chisaki and Kaname FTW).

Non Non Biyori

This show is cute, but it's not exactly interesting. In fact, I a little bored watching this show sometimes. It kind of uses the same jokes over and over again, and that's a bit annoying. But...I don't know, I can't dislike this show for some unforeseen reason.

Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru

Well, this was certainly a surprise amongst the new series. I didn't think this show would actually be good, but, wouldn't you know it, it is. It's really funny, not on level with Kill La Kill (which is very hard to achieve, so no hard feelings), but it's ill pretty funny.

Outbreak Company

Spreading the word of the otaku in a mythical land. Who would've thought such an odd concept would actually come about in such a not odd manner? I don't know, I was expecting this show to turn out a lot weirder than it actually has. It's still kind of weird, but it's pretty normal for my standards.

Samurai Flamenco

I was expecting this show to be vibrant, colorful, and full of amazing battle scenes. However, it turned out to be a dark comedy about wannabe superheroes. I wasn't really pleased when I first found this out, but, it's actually very enjoyable for a modern day cynic like myself.

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!

Women's wrestling highly sexualized by extremely large breasts (I feel deceived, I thought they'd be more proportional), and lots of squealing and moaning. I'd like this show a lot more if it didn't sound exactly like porn.

Strike the Blood

I wish I had more words for this show, but I barely have any. It's pretty stereotypical (old-fashioned stereotypical), but it still manages to entertain a bit. In a way it reminds me of the Toaru Majutsu no Index, but just not as fun.

Super Seisyun Brothers

It's a short series, so there really isn't much to it. Still, it's fairly enjoyable. Of course, I ship the Saitou brother with the Shinmoto sister, not too sure about the Shinmoto brother with the Saitou sister though.

Tokyo Ravens

With what I've seen so far, this show is quite interesting. Though, it seems to be (maybe I'm just coming to hasty conclusions) a buildup to a battle harem. Even if it does, I'm sure I'll still like it. Something about this show clicks with me.

Walkure Romanze

This show is one giant sex joke, and it is amazing. Also, the show has more points of interest besides the sex jokes. The jousting is actually *gasp* interesting! Also, everyone in this show is so pretty, this is one of the most appealing fanservice shows I've ever seen.

Yowamushi Pedal

Despite the overuse of CG in the biking scenes, this show is pretty good. For some reason, this particular anime season is abundant with good sports series, and this show is no exception.

Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita.

This show is mostly fanservice. I was kind of hoping that wasn't gonna be the case, but whatever. Anyway, this show's fanservice is surprisingly attractive. Not on level with Walkure Romanze, but attractive nonetheless. The comedy is a little on the dry side though.

Ongoing Series from Previous Seasons:

Gifuu Doudou!!: Kanetsugu to Keiji

I would almost fall asleep watching this show at times. However, something seems to have improved, because I'm getting bored less often while watching this. Definitely an improvement, but I still space out while watching this show sometimes.

Monogatari Series: Second Season

Shinobu's story was fair, but so far, the highlight for me was Hachikuji's arc. Nadeko's arc pissed me off quite a bit though, and because of her arc, I kind of abhor her character now. I'm looking forward to seeing what Kanbaru's arc has in store, because Kanbaru is always interesting.

Uchuu Kyoudai

That Russia arc really held my interest there. I finally have a ship to ship for this show (Mutta with anyone is boring), and that makes watching it loads more fun. Though, I highly doubt I will be seeing Olga in the show again anytime soon. Still, Hibito has become much more interesting to me. One cannot help but want to root for him.






So those are my thoughts on the shows so far. It is highly likely that my opinion of some of these shows will change in time, but, for now, I'm sticking to my opinions.
Unfortunately, Pupa has yet to premier, and has shown no signs as to when in this season, if at all, it will come about.
